It is 1859 and Cressie is going west to be a mail order bride.
Cressie has been on her own since she was 14. She is tough, resilient, and determined to make it in their world. Her best friend Blossom had gone west a couple of years earlier as a mail order bride to John Jefferson from Colorado. Blossom found a good man and had built a good life for herself, and Cressie intended to give it a try.
